Published in association with the Congress for the New Urbanism's 17th annual conference held in Denver in 2009, this 128 page, full-color book provides a case study of Colorado's urban history and recent embrace of New Urbanist principles. Colorado Urbanizing provides the big picture on how the region has become more urban, how it works cooperatively to encourage smart growth, and how it plans to urbanize in the future. The book also provides more than 100 examples of projects large and small that have contributed to rebuilding Colorado's cities and creating new urban centers that use land wisely.

The Colorado Urbanist focuses on lectures, panel presentations and other events organized by the CNU Colorado Chapter Organizing Committee. Additionally, the Colorado Urbanist is dedicated to advocating New Urbanist principles in Colorado, stimulating a deeper level of thinking about urbanism, outlining exemplary local practices, and providing a local forum for urbanist ideas and explorations.
